Mattress and sweating, sleeping on a mattress, memory foam

Does the mattress affect night sweating?

During a lengthy telephone conversation, Ms. Anna from Warsaw asked us whether a mattress could have any influence on night sweats as she doesn't have air conditioning. She noticed that she sweats on the mattress during the summer, and after replacing it with a new model, the problem intensified even more. She wanted to know how mattresses affect perspiration.

Most of the commonly available mattresses today are constructed by placing visco foam in the top layer. Since it is the only type of polyurethane foam that possesses viscosity and exhibits the phenomenon of polymer creep, it affects perspiration. The characteristics of memory foam eliminate it from the top layer of functional mattresses constructed with the expert knowledge of a specialist team.

It is no secret that currently, a significant portion of users of memory foam mattresses experiences perspiration on them. Night sweats, in particular, occur during the spring and summer. Unless someone has air conditioning, which somewhat mitigates these differences in foam firmness. However, most people sink into memory foam, and its cells close without providing adequate air circulation, leading to overheating.
Mattress width, mattress sizes, mattress store

Does the width of the mattress matter?

Mr. Szymon from Szczecin was seriously contemplating changing the mattress size he currently has. He is currently sleeping on a 160x200 memory foam mattress, but he wants to switch to a slightly smaller one, a 120x200 memory foam mattress with similar features. He told us that he is currently 188 centimeters tall and weighs almost 100 kilograms, which makes him doubt whether he will sleep well on a smaller mattress.

We must emphasize that the choice of a mattress based on weight is an abuse that lacks justification in current scientific knowledge, and it is a kind of nonsense. For a customer of 160x200 mattresses, it provides complete freedom. They can assume any sleeping position without limitations. Reducing the surface with a 120x200 mattress can bring difficulties. The customer already has their habits, and changing them can cause discomfort. It is better to stick with the mattress size you already have.
Eco-friendly mattresses, natural mattress, biodegradable materials

Which mattress is the most eco-friendly?

Ms. Kasia from Toruń is an environmentalist and is very conscious of using environmentally-friendly products. She is very keen on purchasing an eco-friendly mattress, eco-friendly. She previously considered a buckwheat mattress, but it raised some important concerns regarding the material. She wanted to know which mattress to choose to live in line with her beliefs.

We must remember that polyurethane foam is petroleum-derived. However, this doesn't exclude memory foam mattresses from being eco-friendly. One cannot claim they are not eco-friendly solely based on their origin. It's important to note that a functional mattress has a long lifespan. Therefore, we will need to replace it far less frequently than others. They may also have a smaller carbon footprint and the right construction.

It's worth keeping in mind that an eco-friendly mattress should be made from synthetic materials that can be recycled. It's not true that an eco-friendly mattress will contain springs, cotton, or coconut, or similar materials. These materials often prove to be highly non-durable and non-recyclable, which is why many of them have been accumulating in landfills across Europe for decades.
